SUPPORT GROUPS upcoming group dates
Recovery can be very difficult and sometimes it can be hard to find people who can relate to what you are going through.

OCDC Manitoba offers support groups to help you on your way to recovery. Meet with others to discuss your thoughts and feelings, offer advise on how you cope or just listen and learn from the perspectives and experiences of other group members. During these two hour meetings, we will have open discussions, watch OCD related documentaries, hear special guest speakers, and teach relaxation & coping methods. Join us and feel the support of others who know where you’re coming from.

  • Adult Support Group WANT TO TALK? WANT TO LISTEN? A great opportunity for those with OCD to speak with others who have the disorder, to share their feelings, and learn from the perspectives and experiences of others. Check for dates and times or email education@ocdmanitoba.ca for more information.

  • Friends and Family Support Group - WANT TO SHARE AND LEARN?            Caring for or living with someone who has OCD can be challenging. This group offers you the opportunity to meet with others who are dealing with similar situations to share your feelings and learn from the experience of others. Call our office for dates and times or email education@ocdmanitoba.ca for more information.

  • Post CBT Support Group (GOAL GROUP) – WANT TO KEEP THE PROCESS of SELF-HELP GOING? This time-limited group was established to bring together those who have been to therapy to treat their OCD or are familiar with CBT to continue in their recovery process with self-help and the support of others. Call our office for times and locations at 942 3331 or email education@ocdmanitoba.ca for more information.
This time-limited group provides support for people wishing to work through Exposure Response Prevention. Exposure Response Prevention is a strategy to reduce compulsive symptoms by very gradually exposing oneself to a compulsion, whether it is mental or physical. The response of anxiety will lessen over time until the fear is almost non-existent.
The members of the group support one another by sharing experiences and their own strategies. Some fears may be more resistant than others. There are three segments to a meeting:
    1. The Question - members discuss an issue or answer a question regarding OCD.
    2. Members break into smaller groups to discuss their individual Exposure Response Prevention choices for the coming two to three weeks. They share experiences of the past choices whether they have been successful or choose to try again. This is a supportive environment and a Code of Conduct guides the group.
    3. Socialization
